The Swiss Association of Singapore (SAS) is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit seeking association of Swiss nationals and persons with a close relation to Switzerland residing in Singapore.
Under the shelter and support of the Embassy of Switzerland, as well as the sponsorships of few Swiss entrepreneurs and companies in Singapore, the SAS started to offer some events and activities for people to meet and mingle. More formally, the objectives of the Swiss Association are:
Due to the fact that Swiss nationals are split into three language communities and that the main language spoken in Singapore is English, it was decided that the official language of the SAS will be English.
The Swiss Ambassador and the Consul are Honorary Members of the SAS.
Any Swiss citizen or foreigner linked with Switzerland can apply for a membership; once the Committee has approved the submitted application, the applicant is admitted as a Member of the Swiss Association and entitled to all the membership’s privileges.
Switzerland and the Republic of Singapore have enjoyed excellent and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 11 October 1967. But relations of Swiss people with Singapore date much longer back and have a long tradition. Their geographic distance notwithstanding, the two countries have developed over the years strong political, economic, financial, scientific and cultural ties.
The Swiss Club was established in 1871. It is one of the oldest, historical Clubs in Singapore. Located on Bukit Tinggi, it is an elegant retreat surrounded by lush greenery, offering a fabulous panorama of the vigour and freshness of nature, all drenched in light.
SwissCham Singapore organizes a number of high quality events focusing on the networking among its members and promoting the “Swissness” in Singapore. The main objectives of the SwissCham are to assist the Swiss companies in Singapore, by providing services appropriate to a business group and fostering the growth of the Swiss trade in investments, finances as well as the general commerce and industry between Switzerland and Singapore.

SEC Singapore-ETH Centre for Global Environmental Sustainability (SEC) was established as a collaboration between the National Research Foundation of Singapore and ETH Zurich in 2010. It is an institution that frames a number of research programmes, such as the Future Cities Laboratory (FCL). The SEC strengthens the capacity of Singapore and Switzerland to research, understand and actively respond to the challenges of global environmental sustainability.
