The Swiss Association of Singapore (SAS)
The Swiss Association of Singapore (SAS) is an independent, non-political, non-religious, and non-profit association that brings together Swiss nationals and individuals with close ties to Switzerland residing in Singapore.
Since its creation in 2006, the SAS has been dedicated to creating opportunities for the Swiss community and friends of Switzerland to connect, celebrate Swiss traditions, and foster a sense of belonging in Singapore. The Association works in close collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore and enjoys the valued support of Swiss entrepreneurs, companies, and community partners, who regularly contribute through sponsorships and partnerships for events and initiatives.
The objectives of the Swiss Association are:
• To facilitate contact among Swiss nationals living in Singapore.
• To foster friendship and connections between the Swiss community in Singapore and friends of Switzerland.
• To serve as a bridge between the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore and the Swiss community in Singapore.
• To act as a link between Swiss organisations in Singapore and the Swiss community.
• To organise social, cultural, and recreational activities that are in the general interest of its members and the wider Swiss community.
As the Swiss community is composed of four language regions and English is the principal language of communication in Singapore, English has been adopted as the official language of the SAS.
The Swiss Ambassador, the Consul, and their immediate family members are Honorary Members of the Swiss Association of Singapore.
Membership is open to Swiss citizens and individuals with a close connection to Switzerland. Upon approval of their application by the Committee, applicants become members of the Swiss Association of Singapore and are entitled to all membership privileges.
The Swiss community in Singapore is built on a network of organisations and institutions that preserve Swiss values, foster connections, and support Swiss citizens in Singapore. Together, they form the Swiss Pillars of our community.
