Are you interested in learning more about Southeast Asia and its culture? Come and join us for our tour at the Asian Civilization Museum!

About the ACM

The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) is the first museum in the region to present a broad yet integrated perspective of pan-Asian cultures and civilisations. As one of the National Museums of Singapore under the National Heritage Board, they seek to promote a better appreciation of the rich cultures that make up Singapore’s multi-ethnic society.
While Singapore’s forefathers came to settle in Singapore from many parts of Asia within the last 200 years, the cultures brought to Singapore by these different people are far more ancient. This aspect of Singapore’s history is the focus of the ACM. The Museum’s collection therefore centres on the material cultures of the different groups originating from China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia.

Tour description

Southeast Asia is (still) an unfamiliar area to most people. This tour will invite you discover and appreciate its cultural diversity as much as its unity highlighting the common features to all Southeast Asian countries.
Our tour guide is called Hélène.

Date: Tuesday, 20 January 2015, 10 am – approx. 11.30 am

Meeting Point: Asian Civilizations Museum, 1 Empresse Place, main entrance, please arrive 10 minutes earlier

Fees: SGD 5.00 for members and SGD 10.00 for non-members which can be paid on the same day in cash (please bring the correct amount); please take note that you do not have to buy any entrance tickets!

Registration deadline: Sunday, 18 January 2015
