For those of you who will be spending summer in Singapore, why don’t you come along to our August summer lunch?
We’ve replaced our monthly coffee mornings in July and August by a summer lunch. This is the opportunity to tickle your tastebuds, meet some new faces, and catch-up with the latest news, all during your lunch break.
On the menu in August: Peranakans (Nyonya) cuisine
Peranakans are proud descendants of early Chinese migrants who settled in Penang, Malacca, Indonesia and Singapore. These Chinese inter-married the local Malays and addressed themselves as Nyonya (ladies) & Baba (gentlemen). Nyonya cooking is the result of blending Chinese ingredients with spices and cooking techniques used by the Malay and Indonesian community.
