Come and join us on this interesting tour with our guide Chaqa. This visit gives to participants an insight into the history of the Singapore River and the people who began everything there from the finding days up till today.
About the Tour:
Cavenaugh Bridge will be our starting point as we dive into the history of the river and the beginnings of Singapore. We will stroll along the river towards the Parliament and take a short stop at the Supreme Court . From the uppermost level of this building, a bird’s eye view of the river may be enjoyed as Chaqa explains about politics and government here in the comfort of an airconditioned environment.
After this we will make our way down South Bridge road towards Chinatown. Our main stop in Chinatown will be the Chinatown Heritage Centre. This centre has been proven to be very successful in depicting the past as it was. It has been updated to include modern day technologies with interactive screens for representation. The second part of this centre is made up to look like Singapore as it was in the early til mid 90s.
Time permitting, he will then take participants on a stroll down the Chinatown part of South Bridge road and explains the existance of the mosque, hindu and buddhist temple and the church. This 150m stretch of Singapore is a very good example of religious harmony here.
Our excursion will end at the Buddha Tooth Relic temple and again, time permitting, Chaqa would like to take us to the rooftop of the temple and and through the main hall as a conclusion of our tour.

A minimum number of participants is required; if it is not met registration will be refunded. Please be advised that we have to charge the full amount in case of cancellation will be done after deadline or no show.

No-shows will be charged. Free cancellation can be done till 2 days prior to the event by sending an email to: ecteam@swiss-sg.org. Cancellations made later will be charged the event costs.
