Dear Members and Friends,
Do you want to do something good for Planet Earth?¬†Are you interested in an eye-opening and rewarding experience? Then help us to clean up the scenic island of Pulau Ubin together with Samuel Gmehlin,¬†the Swiss President & Founder of the volunteering organization who do regular cleanups on Pulau Ubin.
Two hours of cleaning up followed by food and drinks at a nearby brewery makes a perfect Saturday. Families with kids are more than welcome to join, as this is a¬†great way for children to learn the importance of keeping our planet¬†clean!
Date and Time:
Saturday, March 23 /¬†2.00pm – 5.00pm¬†(the cleanup itself will not exceed two hours)
After the cleanup, we will have dinner and drinks at “Little Island Brewing Co” near the Changi Village jetty.
How to register:
Please register on our website below until March 11 so that we can send you a separate email for the official registration with the event organizer.
Pulau Ubin, Public Jetty (right after the “Welcome to Pulau Ubin” sign)
Changi Village Ferry Terminal (postcode 499172, NOT to be confused with the Changi Ferry Terminal!)
The boat at Changi Village Ferry Terminal leaves every time when 12 people are ready to go.
Transportation fee per way: SGD 3.- per adult/child (please bring the exact amount)
What to bring:
You are responsible to bring your own equipment and tools such as garbage bags, gardening gloves, good shoes, water, mosquito repellent and sunscreen. We will also help by providing some bags and gloves. If you’ve got trash pickers or BBQ tongs, please bring them along, it can help too.
It is highly recommended to wear a long sleeved top and pants/trousers, as well as good shoes in order to avoid get bitten by mosquitoes. Avoid flip-flops or any kind of sandals. Children (4 years old and above) are welcome to attend the cleanup, however adult supervision is required. Please be on time as it will be hard to find the group once the activity starts.¬†In order to be on time at the meeting point, it is advised to reach the ferry terminal no later than 1.30pm.
