We will “revive” our My Singapore walks which means that either a Committee member or one of the SAS-members will show us their favourite neighbourhood.
This time, Karin, one of our members, will bring us to Kampong Glam. You will hear about the basics of the culture of this area but Karin will mainly show us her favourite shopping places which are not comparable to Orchard Road or other shopping areas as it is less touristy but not at all less interesting as they still kept their traditional character! So please bring your camera and take pictures of your personal favourite shops, in order to come back on your own and with plenty of time to do your shopping (there might not be sufficient time for “extensive” shopping during the tour).
If there is time and interest, we will go for a typical lunch in the area afterwards.
Please do not forget to bring an umbrella and a water bottle.
