Challenge yourself to a wet & dry adventure with us: Kayak via a pristine mangrove river to Pulau Ubin, hike up its highest point for Ubin’s best view, enjoy your own lunch in a unique roadside drink stall next to a river.

Of the more than 60 islands that make up Singapore, Pulau Ubin is said to be among the most cherished by Singaporeans. It is still home to diverse natural habitats & teeming ecosystems with a small number of people who continue to live the rural lifestyle that reminds visitors of what much of the republic was like half a century ago. To the public, it is like any other island in Singapore. Besides its natural charms, the island of Pulau Ubin is home to old-school kampong (village) houses, providing visitors with a window to Singaporeâ€™s yesteryears.

Ubin famous roadside drink stall is Ah Ma Drink Stall, a rustic-looking blue wooden stall, just before Jelutong Bridge. Being near the bridge, the store faces flooding during high spring tides from nearby mangrove swamps.

It was renovated jointly by various parties & launched in 2018. Ah Ma [Grand mom] Drink Stall is believed to be the first kampung structure to be built on Pulau Ubin in 20 years. Care was taken during the renovation works to retain the rustic character of the original timber structure, with kampung-style construction methods and techniques.

Remember to pack your own lunch & buy a chilled cold drink here. It’s an experience worth all the paddling here. You will never find such alfresco dining on the mainland by a river.

If youâ€™ve been yearning to satiate your wanderlust whilst within Singapore, you can easily get away and rejuvenate your senses with a short hike up Pulau Ubinâ€™s Puaka Hill. It’s a straightforward hike up to the highest point at 74m.

The reward is a panoramic vantage view that stretches over the horizon, and youâ€™ll catch a sense of vertigo with an expansive granite quarry right under your feet. Thereâ€™s also serenity and stillness thatâ€™s a rare treat, considering the non-stop hustle and bustle we face on the mainland.

ð—ªð—µð—¼’ð˜€ ð—¦ð˜‚ð—¶ð˜ð—®ð—¯ð—¹ð—²?
A distance of 10 km will be enjoyable for those with some kayaking experience. For those beginners active in other forms of sports or exercise, this should be doable as it is fully supported by experienced instructors. All you need is to paddle the right technique – ðŸš£â€â™€ï¸ðŸš£â€â™‚ï¸. Lot of calories will be burned as we walk up to the island highest point.

Yes! Your safety is our utmost priority. Our instructors will be paddling with the group to ensure safety. We shall move together in a team and leave no one behind.

After returning to Pasir Ris, you have the possibility to shower or/and join us to Georges@TheCove for a chilled drink (everybody pays for her/his own drinks).

Fee: SAS-Members pay SGD 70, non-Members pay SGD 79.

Special Notes:

Please sign up by 20th of August 2022 by 7pm at the latest, thank you! In case of a cancellation from your side after the 20th of August, SAS cannot refund the money since the provider needs to know the amount of participants and needs to be paid upfront.

Therefore for this event the usual 48 hours rule mentioned below does not count.

Please note that the tour will only take place if there are enough people signing up.

In case there aren’t enough people signing up by August 20th, your money will be refunded.
