Join us for a DEEPAVALI guided tour with Charlotte Chu in Little India and discover about the Festival of Lights, the most important festival for the Hindus.
Come on this walk to find out how the Hindus celebrated this very colorful holiday.Â Indulge in all your senses as you walk through this fascinating Ethnic Area.Â Check out Serangoon Road and its back streets, where you will find a myriad of interestingÂ shops, spices, textiles and garland makers etc. Learn about the history of the area and see theÂ beautiful architecture of the colorful terrace houses. Hear about the Gods in the oldest HinduÂ temple in the area and witness how the devotees do their prayers. Get to taste delicious IndianÂ snacks and â€˜pulledâ€™ tea. Always curious as to how a sari is tied, well this is your chance to see aÂ â€˜liveâ€™ demo in a shop that sells beautiful saris.Â You have the option of staying on for lunch/dinner at the oldest vegetarian restaurant in LittleÂ India.

Meeting point: Junction of Buffalo Road and Serangoon Road, where the pavilion is.
There are lots of walking, so please put on comfortable footwear that are also easy to slipÂ on/off as we have to remove our shoes at the entrances to the temples, bring an umbrella and a bottleÂ of water.
Please note that due to the Singapore Governmentâ€™s regulations,Â only 10 people & fully vaccinatedÂ are allowed to get together. Therefore,Â registration is mandatoryÂ if you wish to attend this event.Â Please register by Friday, 22nd October 2021.
