Join us for a DEEPAVALI guided tour with Charlotte Chu in Little India and discover about the Festival of Lights, the most important festival for the Hindus.

Come on this walk to find out how the Hindus celebrated this very colorful holiday.¬†Indulge in all your senses as you walk through this fascinating Ethnic Area.¬†Check out Serangoon Road and its back streets, where you will find a myriad of interesting¬†shops, spices, textiles and garland makers etc. Learn about the history of the area and see the¬†beautiful architecture of the colorful terrace houses. Hear about the Gods in the oldest Hindu¬†temple in the area and witness how the devotees do their prayers. Get to taste delicious Indian¬†snacks and ‚Äėpulled‚Äô tea. Always curious as to how a sari is tied, well this is your chance to see a¬†‚Äėlive‚Äô demo in a shop that sells beautiful saris.¬†You have the option of staying on for lunch/dinner at the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Little¬†India.

Fees: $48 for members, $68 for non-members

Meeting point: Little India MRT exit E street level, along Buffalo Road

There are lots of walking, so please put on comfortable footwear that are also easy to slip on/off as we have to remove our shoes at the entrances to the temples, bring an umbrella and a bottle of water.

Registration is mandatory if you wish to attend this event. Please register by Thursday, 6th October.
