Dear Members & Friends,
Are you fascinated by all the delicious looking food in the local hawker centres? But not always sure what to order? Join us for this walk around Chinatown to explore the interesting and sometimes scary looking produce at the wet and food market!
You will get to sample yummy local delights and hear about the history of street food in Singapore. After filling up your tummy, we will head to the ‘wet’ market to see the wonderful array of fruits and vegetables, interesting ‘live’ produce and learn about different Chinese dried goods and spices. We then hit the streets to learn about some of the history and heritage of this very historical district. Finally for lunch (optional, at your own expense), we end up at one of Singapore’s most popular hawker centre.
Disposables will be provided for the food tastings but if you rather not use them, please feel free to bring your own plates and cutlery.
