Dear Members and Friends,

Are you craving for having fun and connecting with friends while doing something creative?

“Batik Tulis” Workshop is a perfect opportunity for you to learn and understand how Batik is made and the prosses behind it. Batik waxed by hands with a chanting is known as “Batik Tulis”. This is the original and traditional way of creating batik. The tool used to apply in fine lines is called a “chanting”. A chanting tool consists of two parts, the handle which is made from Bamboo and the front spout which is made of copper. For more info, please check out the below video.

Date: Sunday, 25th July 2021
Timing: 3:30 – 5:30 pm (2 hours)
Fee: S$45 for Members, S$60 for Non-Members

Workshop Process

  1. Guided session with the experienced instructors
  2. Choose from several drawings provided
  3. You will learn how batik is made, from drawing with the chanting, up to coloring of your art piece
  4. All materials will be provided

Notes:
Please note that due to the Singapore Government’s regulations, only 5 people (including the hosts) are allowed to get together. Therefore, registration is mandatory if you wish to attend this event. Please register by Sunday,18th July 2021.
