Join us for a workshop in the evening breeze on a rooftop in Tiong Bahru with artist Emi Avora.Â
Show off your creativity and enjoy a delicious tropical welcome drink, a vegetarian Greek Moussaka (Emi is Greek born) and a glass of wine.
 
The workshop will focus on paper-based works of art. It will include demonstrations, as well as individual advice on how to create vibrant and fun images using liquid acrylic and/or watercolors. Emphasis will be given on color, color combinations and layering, in order to create dreamy rather than realistic images. No experience is necessary. Additionally, if you would like to bring reference images that could help with your design, please feel free to bring them along!
About the artist:
Emi Avora is a Greek born, UK trained (Oxford University and Royal Academy Schools) and Singapore based artist. She is drawing subject matter from her everyday life in Singapore as well as her Greek ancestry with a focus on the interior/exterior and still life. Humor and curiosity are elements that occupy her compositions. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes intense and with the use of color on the driving seat, her work allows space for invention, creating a gap between looking and making, between the real and the imaginary.
Avora has exhibited in solo and group shows widely in Europe, USA and recently in Singapore. Her most recent group show was in May at Alliance Française, Singapore and it is currently part of an exhibition at EHL, Singapore organized by Intersections gallery.
