DECEMBER

Dear members, dear readers,

Time to give you some news from your Committee!
Our dear and esteemed secretary, Christine Doppmann goes back to Switzerland by December. Out of being an amazing secretary, Christine offered great and professional guided Tours for SAS. We already miss her as she leaves the committee end of October; she will fortunately stick around for a little while giving you the opportunity to greet her! We deeply thank her for her valuable commitment to the SAS.

Our freshly Event Coordinator, Conny Rohr, had to step back for professional reasons. Not being able to commit as she wanted to, Conny rather preferred to leave her place to someone else. We thank her for her caring gesture.
We are very pleased to introduce you their replacements: Sira Reist, the new Event Coordinator and Manale Ganière, the new secretary. We thank them very much for taking over these positions off the cuff and being already very committed and enthusiastic in working with us.

We wish to have some stability in our committee the coming months, focusing more on the SAS tasks than on a team’s building.
Christmas is almost knocking at the door! Time for us to organise some major Events: the End Year Jass, the People’s association meeting and Santa Klaus.

We are pleased to inform you that our sponsors agreed to support us again this year; we thank them very much for their constant and generous contribution. Our special thanks to our honorary members, the Ambassador and his wife, Jörg and Madeleine Reding, as they kindly offer their residence for hosting Santa Klaus.
Jass cluber and kids will be spoiled! Sabine Stacher, our vice-president, does a great job since Summer in gathering the Jass prizes and in handcrafting the goody bags for 75 kids. To make these celebrations special we need your manpower and help as well. Especially for Santa Klaus as we are excepting around 200 people and thrilled kids!

Actually, we are looking for 3 men, 1.75-1.80 height, around 75kg (little be more or little be less, have to be quite similar), able to speak in Swiss-German and/or French…not for a Mister Universe contest but for leading the roles of Santa Klaus (2) and his Schmutzli (1, mute but scary!)!!!
So please, if you are free the 4th of December to help us out….send a mail to sabine.stacher@swiss-sg.org and manuela.panos@swiss-sg.org. Thank you very much in advance for your commitment.

We would like as well to deeply thank our partners, the so called Pillars, for their great collaboration these past months. The Pillars are the other Swiss Representative in Singapore: the Swiss Embassy, the Swiss Business Association, Swissnex, the Swiss Club, the Swiss School, and the Swiss from Abroad. They offered our members the opportunity to meet other members and guests of honours, like Stefan Seiler or the Planet Solar crew; and supported SAS in bringing new members. In return, we would like to offer our support in forwarding some information to you.
Sabine Silberstein, our political representative in Bern, sent us her last news, here is the link.

The Swiss School in Singapore is looking for a new treasurer, here the job description.
Last but nor least, we thank you very much for your participation in our events, for giving us your feedbacks and inputs. It is rewarding and makes this Association lively! The Swiss Bar Network is successful and we wish the same success to our new rendez-vous “Taste of Asia”! We will reach very soon the number of 300 members! We look forward to meeting you here and there!

With kind regards,
On behalf of the SAS committee,

Manuela Panos-Gissler
President
