About Janine: She took over the role as President of the Swiss Association of Singapore in April 2015, right after moving to Singapore for the second time. Besides volunteering for SAS Janine works as a Financial Controller at SEC Singapore-ETH Centre. She has extensive knowledge in Financial Controlling and Accounting and has international work experience in Europe, USA and Asia.

Favorite Local Dish: Xiao Long Bao, Sushi, Beef noodle soup, Chilli crab.

Favorite Touristic Place in Singapore:  Marina Bay, Club street.

Special Interest: sport, different cultures, reading and food.

Lionel Berthod

Vice President
 Lionel has taken over the Vice President role in July 2016.

About Lionel: He holds a MSc from HEC Lausanne in Business Information Systems and has worked around 20 years in the insurance, banking and consulting services in Switzerland and Europe. He seized with enthusiasm the opportunity of a new position in Singapore and relocated in January 2016. His first contacts with SAS motivated him not to let the VP position vacant any longer but to join the committee, take an active part in the life in the Swiss community, network and enjoy the people and places of this astonishing country.

Favorite Local Dish: ayam buah keluak, black pepper tiger prawn, prata double egg

Gaëlle is the secretary of the Swiss Association.

About Gaëlle: She grew up in Antsiranana (Madagascar). She then went to France to study and graduated from University of Metz. She started to work in the banking field in Luxembourg in different middle-office roles. Gaëlle moved to Singapore in 2013 and is currently working as a Business Analyst in a bank. She has been travelling very frequently across Asia.

Favorite Local Dish: Popiah, Sambal kangkong, Beef rendang, Tofu beancurd.

Favorite Touristic Place in Singapore:  Tiong Bahru, Dempsey Hill, Coney island.

Special Interest: cultural events, foreign languages, travelling, cooking and cats.

Leah Berclaz

Leah is responsible for the SAS Accounting: incoming, outgoing, Month End, Year End, Yearly Tax and Auditing.

About Leah: After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Leah lived and worked in Valais, Geneva, and Dubai before moving to Singapore in 2015. With a background in banking Leah is excited to be joining the SAS committee as Treasurer in 2017.

About Yamuna: For the past seven years she worked as a Marketing & Communications Manager at a Leading education centre in Zurich. In 2014 she completed her Master’s Degree in Communication Management parallel to her job. In January 2015 Yamuna relocated to Singapore with her partner. She is keen to meet new people and explore Singapores hiding spots.

Favorite Local Dish: Dim Sum, Teh tarik, Indian food.

Clémentine is responsible for sourcing and organizing cultural and sports events for the Swiss Association of Singapore.

About Clémentine: She grew up in Athens (Greece) where her father was an expatriate. Back in Switzerland to study, she graduated from University of Lausanne. She worked for 10 years in media, the Engineering and Architecture school of Fribourg and the biggest public hospital in Lausanne, specializing in internal communication, advertising strategy, project management and events. Clémentine moved to Singapore with partner and child in 2014 an happily joined the SAS team in Autum 2015.

Favorite Local Dish: Dumplings, Mochi, Butter chicken.

Favorite Touristic Place in Singapore: Emerald Hill, Marina Bay, Aquarium.

Special Interest: american literature, fitness, discovering beaches.

Melanie Brunner

About Melanie: After completing her Master’s degree in Business Administration, Melanie worked as a programme and event manager for a non-profit organisation based in Zurich for almost three years. She previously worked as a project manager for a tourism project involving private and public stakeholders in the region of Lucerne. Melanie relocated to Singapore in October 2015 with her husband and soon decided to become involved in SAS by organising events, one of her great passions.

Aurélie Nielsen

About Aurélie: She grew up in the region of Lausanne and has been working in the banking industry for 18 years (mainly in Private Banking). Aurélie lived 12 years in Zurich before relocating to Singapore in July 2012, with her husband and daughter. During her stay in Singapore, Aurélie has build knowledge of many interesting places. After 4 years as a SAS member, she has decided to join the committee as an Event Coordinator in May 2016.

About Daniela: Before relocating to Singapore in December 2015 with her husband and their little son, Daniela had been working over 6 years as a senior assistant in the Zurich banking industry and previously many years as organizer in the film industry.Three month after her second son was born end of 2016, Daniela started to look for a balance to the family life and found a great opportunity by SAS for organizing events, which has always been a great passion of hers.

Favorite Local Dish: Soft-shell Crab, Dim Sum, Laksa with Tiger Prawns, Roast Duck.

About Roel: He grew up in Zürcher Oberland and has been working in the banking industry for more than a decade. To complement his work experience he successfully completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) education programme. In 2013 he relocated with his wife to Singapore – keen to explore the APAC region.

Favorite Local Dish: Char Siew Bun (BBQ Pork).

Favorite Touristic Place in Singapore: Arab Street, Mac Ritchie Reservoir, East Coast Park and Gardens by the Bay.

Special Interest: bicycling and outdoor activities.
