My name is Sandra Chawla-Gantenbein; I'm the Swiss
Association's Representative from
the Swiss Embassy of Singapore.
It is a great
pleasure for me to have come to Singapore.
I arrived in
mid August 2007 and have taken up my new position as Head of
the Consular Section of the Swiss Embassy. Having started my
career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996, I did an
initial training in Stockholm followed by two years of short
term assignments at Swiss representations in Johannesburg,
Pretoria, Bangkok, Delhi, Manchester and Sofia. Thereafter
I was posted to the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi for five
years and then transferred to Abu Dhabi where I was working
as a Deputy Head of Chancery from 2005 to July 2007.
I am married
and have two children, Julian (6) and Andrea (5), who both
attend the Swiss School in Singapore.
Arriving from the
desert in the United Arab Emirates my family and I are
particularly enjoying the greenery of this city and we are
in the process of settling in our new home and getting
familiar with the new host country.
I am looking
forward to meet the Swiss Community in Singapore and hope
for a good cooperation. |
